TC60 - Sysmac CIP Safety

This training course is an introduction to Omron’s CIP Safety offering. It is for Technicians and Engineers already familiar with Omron’s Sysmac Safety platform and those who have previously attended the TC53 – Sysmac EtherCAT Safety training course.

The course also assumes prior knowledge of Machinery Safety and relevant Standards. Attendees will learn to configure, program, download, upload, verify, modify, expose data to standard Sysmac Controller Products, setup CIP-S connections and fully simulate the Safety software within Sysmac Studio. This module finishes with a working safety system demonstrating a functioning CIP-S connection between two independent Safety controllers and multiple node devices.

  • Sysmac Safety I/O Hardware configuration - how to configure the various input and output options for safety systems
  • Safety Logic configuration, download & validation
  • Point-to-point (single cast) network connections
  • Multi-cast (multi-master) network connections
  • 3rd party device integration
  • Calculating Safety Reaction Times
  • Safety software simulation - simulation of the program developed during the training
  • Interface to standard NJ/NX platform controllers - exposing of data, reading and writing to safety controllers
  • System modification - how to upload and modify existing Sysmac Safety Programs

The primary objective of this course is to provide a comprehensive introduction to CIP Safety.
