CX-One v3.0 – Enhancing One Software

We have a new release of the CX-One. One Software that is completely integrated. Never enter the same information twice and manage the entire product from sequencing and motion control programs to configuration of field network devices.

Since its introduction in April 2005, Omron has continued to develop our message of “One Software”.  Our goal from the beginning has been to achieve One Software that is completely integrated.  In other words, we aim to eliminate the need to ever enter the same information twice and to provide an integrated environment which can manage the entire product from sequencing and motion control programs to configuration of field network devices.

Third major release

Omron now releases its third major release of CX-One which includes support for two new IEC6-1131 languages, Sequential Function Charts (SFC) and Structure Text (ST).

Sequential Function Chart gives an easy to read graphical representation of the entire process so that from top level it is easy to visualise the programs flow.  Especially useful for control of sequences, such as start-up/shutdown and batch recipes. Actions and Transitions written for a given function can be used many times over leading to more reuse.

As part of a function block ST has been supported in CX-One for some time already, but now it is possible to program the entire program in ST. Structured Text can make complex arithmetic and logic calculations that would have taken lots of ladder possible in a single line.  When converting programs between device vendors, it is almost possible to simply copy, paste and compile!

A FULL and a new LITE version

The CX-One product is also now available in two tiers, a FULL product with support for all devices and a new LITE version which is designed specifically for low end systems, for example to program the new CP1L range of PLCs.  Therefore even our compact devices have the same integrated environment and "One Software" to program the PLC, design your HMI and configure your drives.
