Worlds smallest 6 contact safety door switch
17 April, 2012 08:00
The new D4SL's compact, yet robust design, makes it the world’s smallest 6 contact safety door locking switch, enabling easy installation, where space is limited. Typically switches of this design would only incorporate 2 - 4 contacts, reducing the configuration possibilities. The D4SL also provides a flexible mounting system, which allows the switch to be installed quickly and simply in a number of configurations, eliminating the need to use multiple switch types for different applications and thus reducing the bill of materials on your machine design. To enable fast and efficient installation, the D4SL comes with two connector options, which also allow for quick changeover should the unit become damaged during operation. The D4SL is the ideal choice for all your guard locking applications.

Compact and functional
The compact design of the D4SL, allows for deployment even for applications where space is restricted, without compromising the configuration possibilities. Providing a 6 contact configuration means that complete monitoring of the switch can be provided back to the safety control system without any restrictions.

Connector types
The D4SL is offered with two connector wiring options, allowing faster and more efficient installation:
- Connector type - A factory fitted connector cable system can be used to wire the D4SL, offering plug and play functionality.
- Terminal block type - For greater flexibility during installation, a terminal block connector system is also available. This provides all the benefits of a flexible free wiring system, but also allows quick changeover of the switch should it be damaged during operation.

Flexible and easy mounting
The D4SL is supplied with an ingenious mounting system which allows the unit to be mounted form any one of four directions. This offers complete flexibility for different application requirements. This flexible mounting system also allows a single switch unit to be used for all application requirements, reducing the need for multiple switch types and simplifying the bill of materials for the machine design.

Bright and clear indication
With two high brightness LED indicators, the switch operation can be visually monitored from long distances and from any direction. This provides workers with immediate operation diagnostics, without the need for close inspection, reducing the time needed for fault analysis and therefore improving the machines production efficiency.

Robust design
The head is designed with strong and durable materials and is able to withstand prolonged use in the workplace. To prepare for unforeseen circumstances, a key holding force of 1,300 N (min.) has been achieved. This has increased the range of possible applications.

Benefits of a 6 contact switch
The D4SL has a flexible 6 contact arrangement which allows flexible monitoring of door open/close status and also the lock status of the switch. It also provides complete feedback to the safety control system, without compromise or limitations.
