Twenty-first century companies not only realize public responsibility through business activities but also through compliance with applicable laws, through ethical activities, and by protecting the environment among many other activities. In other words, companies are required to realize a wide range of public responsibility from a global vantage. Omron has firmly positioned its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in the 2nd stage of the Grand Design 2010 (GD2010), the company’s long term management vision and plan. In this stage, Omron is working to encourage all employees, divisions and companies to understand CSR with a global view and to adapt CSR into their daily activities.
As a globally operational company, an Asian company, a Japanese company, and a company working towards formulating an optimization society (*1), and a company dedicated to CSR activities, Omron decided to donate one hundred million yen towards reconstruction of the damage caused by the earthquake off Indonesia and the ensuing Asian tsunami.
