The individual components of the electronic roof antenna (antenna line and mechanical foot) are manually inserted into the manufacturing machine.

Within the process a soldering machine lays a fixed solder quantity on two plate positions. It is crucial that the solder distributes itself evenly both on the upper and the lower part of the plate around the joints. The intelligent sensor examines the even distribution of the solder. With this examination a 100% quality is guaranteed.

Intelligent sensor with modified object lighting
With a specially developed lighting for this, developed by the company Avicom, an image processing partner from Omron for many years from Berlin, the object and/or the soldered joints are observed with red light background lighting. In doing so, it was crucial that the glare of the soldered joints was taken off, since shining soldered joints can be detected badly. The applied lighting has crucial influence on the quality of the obtained correct results of measurement.

Therewith all requirements, the ones the company Bosch places in the system as quality criteria, are converted. Herewith both the desired geometrical form of the soldered joints and their definite placing is evaluated with the good/ bad statement. There are also measuring windows set at positions, where no solder may be found, in order to prevent short-circuits.

The intelligent sensor works with a progressive scan camera. It guarantees that with an external trigger impulse the picture is immediately built up and measurement can take place. This real time processing works at optimal time and leads to excellent results.
